Product Care Guide

Last Updated: August 12, 2025

Proper care keeps your tools sharp, hygienic, and long-lasting. Follow this guide for daily cleaning, safe disinfection, lubrication, storage, and sharpening.

1) General Care (All Stainless-Steel Tools)

  • Wipe off residues immediately after use.
  • Clean → Disinfect/Sterilize (if required) → Dry completely → Lubricate joints → Store.
  • Use pH-neutral detergent and soft, non-abrasive cloths/brushes.
  • Avoid bleach, chlorine, harsh acids/alkalis, and steel wool (can cause staining or scratches).
  • Keep tools dry; moisture is the main cause of tea-staining/rust spots.

2) Disinfection & Sterilization

  • Everyday disinfection: 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes/spray or salon-approved surface disinfectant.
  • Cold sterilization (for non-autoclavable items): Use manufacturer-approved solutions; follow soak times; rinse and dry fully.
  • Autoclave: Use only on tools marked autoclavable.
    • Place in pouches; avoid over-packing; follow cycle parameters.
    • Finishes caution: Colored coatings (e.g., rose gold, matte black, rainbow/titanium-look) may not be autoclave-safe unless explicitly stated.
  • Always follow your local salon/clinic hygiene rules.

3) Lubrication (Hinged/Jointed Tools)

Applies to: cuticle nippers, nail/cuticle scissors, barber scissors, forceps, pliers

  • After cleaning & drying, apply 1–2 drops of instrument oil to the joint/screw.
  • Open/close several times, then wipe excess.
  • Frequency: weekly for heavy use; otherwise after each deep clean.

4) Sharpening & Realignment (Typical Intervals)

Usage affects timing—these are general guidelines:

  • Barber/Styling Scissors: every 6–12 months.
  • Cuticle Nippers/Clippers: every 3–9 months.
  • Tweezers: as needed when grip lessens.
  • Piercing/Forceps: inspect alignment regularly; service if tips drift.
Use a qualified sharpening service familiar with beauty instruments. Improper sharpening can void warranty.

5) Storage

  • Store fully dry tools in a clean pouch, tray, or roll.
  • Add silica gel or VCI anti-rust paper in drawers/cabinets.
  • Keep tips protected (caps or guards).
  • Do not store in humid bathrooms or near chemical fumes.

6) Finish-Specific Notes

  • Satin/Matte Steel: Hides fine scratches; clean with soft brush only.
  • Mirror/Gloss Steel: Shows marks easily; use microfiber cloth.
  • Colored/Coated Finishes (rose gold, matte black, rainbow):
    • Avoid abrasive scrubbing and harsh chemicals.
    • Confirm autoclave compatibility before sterilization.
    • Surface wear is normal over time; handle gently.

7) Tool-Type Quick Care

Tweezers (Eyelash/Eyebrow):

  • Keep tips aligned; replace caps after use.
  • Remove adhesive residue with alcohol; never scrape tips on hard surfaces.

Cuticle Nippers/Clippers:

  • Do not cut hard objects (e.g., acrylics/gel tips).
  • Close blades when storing; apply a drop of oil to the joint.

Barber/Styling Scissors:

  • Wipe blades between clients; keep tension properly adjusted.
  • Avoid dropping; use a holster; send for pro sharpening when tugging occurs.

Piercing/Forceps & Pliers:

  • Follow clinic-grade disinfection/sterilization.
  • Inspect locking mechanisms and tips for burrs; service if sticking.

Blackhead/Comedone Tools:

  • Disinfect before/after use; sanitize contact areas thoroughly.
  • Do not bend loops; store with protectors if available.

8) Do / Don’t Checklist

Do:

  • Clean → disinfect → dry → lubricate → store.
  • Use only salon/clinic-approved chemicals.
  • Service/Sharpen on schedule.

Don’t:

  • Don’t leave tools soaking overnight.
  • Don’t use bleach/chlorine or abrasive pads.
  • Don’t store damp or uncovered in humid places.

9) Troubleshooting

  • Light spots/tea-staining: Clean with mild detergent; dry fully; add silica gel; avoid corrosive chemicals.
  • Stiff hinge/squeak: Clean joint; add 1–2 drops of oil; cycle open/close; wipe excess.
  • Misalignment/poor cutting: Stop use; send for professional adjustment/sharpening.
  • Coating wear: Normal with heavy use; reduce abrasion; avoid harsh solvents.

10) Safety & Compliance

  • For professional environments, follow local health regulations and record keeping for disinfection/sterilization.
  • Keep tools away from children.
  • Use PPE (gloves, eye protection) where required.

11) Warranty & Service

Proper care preserves performance and warranty. Damage from improper chemicals, corrosion due to poor drying, drops, or unauthorized sharpening is not covered.
